Poseidon Education currently operates programs across school districts in California and Nevada, with past initiatives in Hawaii. We’re actively exploring expansion into additional states and welcome inquiries about working together from agencies outside our current regions.

Poseidon Education helps partners strengthen public engagement and meet permit outreach requirements through impactful, hands-on programming. Our education programs foster early interest in water-related careers, enhance community appreciation for the agency’s work, and boost public visibility through acknowledgments in communications. Program FAQs

We have established relationships with schools and teachers across California and Nevada, which makes it easier for us to connect with teachers who are eager to participate. Additionally, our connections and outreach efforts ensure we continually find educators who are passionate about the program in most areas or states.

Teachers are excited to run our programs in their classrooms for several reasons:

  • All curriculum, materials, and hands-on lessons provided at no cost to the school and meet NGSS standards in an engaging real world project

  • Comprehensive training and ongoing support from our team

These benefits help teachers expand their own professional development while also providing their students with a valuable head start in their careers or college education.

Teacher Support FAQs

Teachers are supported every step of the way. Before the program begins, a Poseidon Project Manager meets on-site with participating teacher(s) to provide comprehensive training and orientation. This includes an overview of program structure, classroom materials, and logistical planning. Teachers receive a detailed curriculum manual, lesson plans, worksheets, and example activities. Throughout the program, the Project Manager provides ongoing support, troubleshooting challenges, offering guidance, and customizing the program to the school site and student needs.

Teachers who complete a Poseidon Education program receive a certificate of completion and retain access to all program materials, allowing them to continue using the curriculum in their classrooms year after year. All lesson plans are turnkey and NGSS-aligned, ensuring implementation is both efficient and standards-based. Participants in the Stormwater Quality Leadership Program also have the option to enroll in our companion professional development course to become eligible for professional development credit. If needed, we offer flexibility with the duration and structure of our programs to fit the needs of your class. Please reach out to us ahead of time to discuss any changes, and we’ll coordinate with our funding partners to adjust the program accordingly. Note: If you choose to shorten the Stormwater Quality Leadership Program, it may affect your eligibility for the associated professional development course.
