Conservation Specialization

Specialization Overview

Modeled on the Water Resources Leadership Program, the Conservation Specialization places a greater emphasis on water conservation, replacing topics such as wastewater and stormwater with lessons and activities focused on efficiency and conservation strategies, resource limitations, and individual and community responsibility. By taking a deeper dive into conservation, the program helps youth see themselves as both water stewards and future professionals who can contribute to the sustainable management of our shared water resources.

How does the Conservation Specialization differ?

A deeper focus on water conservation, efficiency, and sustainable water use

Instead of developing a Develops a Water Resources Management Plan, students create a Water Conservation Plan for their school site

Balances resource management with a stronger focus on individual choices
